 WHO WE ARE

The Boys and Girls Club of Chelsea was formed in early 1994 through a cooperative effort between concerned community leaders of the Town of Chelsea, the Housing Authority of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The club first opened its doors to the Chelsea area youth on June 9, 1994, operating out of the Longfellow Intermediate School gymnasium.

The Boys and Girls Club of Chelsea was the first native club in Oklahoma accepted as a member organization of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America in July of 1994.

The club's permanent home, the Lewis B. Ketchum Youth Sports Center, was completed in 1996, and the club had an official grand opening of the center on November 16, 1996.
